Will you accept my…Smoke Detectors?
- Ionization Smoke Detectors - Any salvaged--or even surplus--ionization-type alarms may be defective because they all have a limited life span. You can identify ionization alarms by looking at the back of them for any mention of radioactive materials. We cannot accept them unless they:
- have the date of manufacture printed on them and are not over three years old
- have not been used
- have not been under recall from the manufacturer
- Photoelectric Smoke Detectors - We cannot accept them unless they:
- have not been used
- have not been under recall from the manufacturer
Remember, it's always best to call if you have any questions (301-985-5180). We reserve the right to accept or reject things on a case-by-case basis, depending on condition and how many items we already have in that category. This list may change at any time but we will make every effort to update this regularly and send Deconstruction Services an updated list.
