Community Forklift offers a Sustainable Business Internship every spring, summer, and fall.

We are looking for someone who wants to help us “lift” up local communities by reducing waste, creating green jobs, educating the public about reuse, and making repairs more affordable.

Interns are expected to commit 6-12 hours a week. Please note: our internship is unpaid, but a small stipend to cover your travel will be reimbursed to you at the end of your internship. This is an experiential learning internship, where you will develop skills preparing you for a future transition into employment in the growing "green job" sector.

As our Intern, you'll work with our Outreach & Education Team to build our outreach & publicity both online and in the community. We'll consider your existing skills and interests to develop a semester-long project compatible with your own academic goals.
In addition, you should expect to gain experience and skills:
  • Shooting and editing promotional videos,
  • Representing the organization at public events,
  • Conducting internet & phone research, and
  • Both collaborating with a team and working independently.
You must have strong writing, research, and organization skills.
You must be available Saturdays and at least one weekday.
